I have made quite a few developments in terms of ideas for other aspects of the application, as this was about all I could achive this past week.
Here is the update..
INTERFACE: The main interface will be the textured imaged of the map (background used in the footnotes) with symbols (probably rollover buttons) that access each part of the app. E.g Map symbol, characters etc.. I am yet to decide if this will have any form of introduction.
MAP: The map will be accessed by clicking onthe relevent symbol in the interface. This will result in:
- An image of a whisky bottle will come up (That I am going to model in Maya)
- Click/somehow interact with this to knock it over.
- The spill of whisky (colour will match the map) will flow from the bottle outwards.
- This wil eventually reveal the shape of the map and fade into the map image.
- The image will have zoom, interactive aspects (maybe).
- The bottle image appears with a label on it reading 'Footnotes and other writings' (or such like) with the intstructions of clicking (probably, maybe arrow keys) left and right to spin the bottle (rotate).
- As the bottle rotates it will reveal the next footnote.
- There will be an option to peel off the stickers and add them to a scrapook (aha, a new thing, I know..)
- So, I need to model the bottle, make an instruction label and also make an image of the footnote background (with no map) to come after each footnote to give the impression of rotation.
SCENES, CHARACTERS .. I really need to do these, they will either be in some kind of weather interactive book or something, perhaps the scenes will be accesed through picking up glasses and looking at the stain left behind.. That's a good idea actually! Then they don't need to be too detailed.. always good. Whisky spill styke continued..
QUOTES: So far I only have one image, I need to make more.. thats about all there is to it, I'm still unsure how these will be viewed AH, no I had an idea, 'R's guitar is an importnt thing to him, perhaps I should make the image of the guitar, the quote images can be viewed as stickers on the case, or on the guitar? Viewed by zooming around the entire thing, stickers can be added to scrapbook etc..
SO, to do list:
- Model bottle.
- Label (x2) of instructions for: tipping for map, rotating for footnotes.
- Scrapbook: Cover, internal pages, variations of grain and texture on pages.
- Image of glasses on table.
- Scene images in style of whisky stain/glass stain on table. Plan view for all? Or Front elevation the scroll on top?
- Guitar..
- Quote Images, sticker effect.
- Characters.. still unsure
Some other notes, had an idea of the guitar, strings being plucked to make various pouring noises?
Quick note for one quote/scene.. when he makes the girl breakfast, image assembled from bacon eggs etc.
